Well, it's official! Tickets are bought, bags are slightly packed, and I head out for China next week! For those of you who didn't know, we started the process of adopting a little girl from Jiangxi province about 13 months ago.  There are several months of paperwork before presenting forms to China for review and approval.  In May 2011 we were matched with a little girl from Jiangxi province, and the rest has been a waiting game of forms, notaries, more forms.

And the occasional hike in beautiful mountains!

But, now the time has come! Introducing Esme Peng.  (Esme rhymes with Pez-day, which would be a great holiday in my opinion--happy Pez Day!).  This little cutie is 16 months old, and we can't wait to meet her.

So, I am heading to Shanghai and then on to Nanchang in 1 week, and Dave and the boys will be home playing too many computer games and eating too much pizza!  My mom has graciously agreed to join me 1/2 way through the trip to bring Esme home.

Stay tuned; I will hopefully be updating this regularly as I travel, and would love to hear from you.

  2. Aw, Jill, seeing my sweet cyber buddy for the first time actually has me teary! (((HUG)))...so grateful for this connection that we and our Jiangxi daughters share. I am just so incredibly happy for your family...what an incredible blessing awaits each one of you! Esme is so very precious. I cannot wait to see her in her Mama's arms!!!

Prayers for safe travel for you and your mom, sweet bonding time for your 3 men at home -- and hopefully an apple or two while the doctor's away ;) --, and for Esme...May God bless her and fill her heart with peace and instinctive understanding that she is LOVED beyond measure, always and forever.

With Love and Prayers and every Best Wish,
    Amy

  3. Jill-wow, didn't realize you were traveling alone on the first part of the journey-at least your packing is a little less complicated than bringing the entire family along. Can't wait to see phots during your trip-hopefully there will be time to sneak some in, I know you will have your hands full. Enjoy the one-on-one bonding opportunities you will have before heading home, Esme is so precious! We will be right behind you.......
